Globacom Telecom Stops BIS Services!!!

Globacom telecom has announced the crunching halt of all Glo BIS (Blackberry Internet Services).

This is a trending move after similar announcement was made by rivals telecom company Etisalat and this is part of the resulting fallback developments from Blackberry OS slow but sure demise.

Glo made this announcement via tweet and text as shown below:

"Dear Customer, starting December 17, 2016 BlackBerry services on your device (BBOS7 devices) will no longer be available. You can still continue to use the device to Call and Text. We request you to migrate to a BB10, Android, Windows or IOS handset to use your remaining data".
It is not that long ago when BIS was bae and even Android users took a bit (or a lot of bites) from the BIS data plans via IMEI tweaking.

Alas, BIS is finally dead and set to be buried!

Below is a list of Glo BIS plans that is now unavailable for purchase or renewal:

• BlackBerry Complete weekly plan
• BlackBerry Complete monthly plan
• BlackBerry Absolute weekly plan
• BlackBerry Absolute monthly plan
• BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS)
• BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES)

If you are still a Blackberry OS user, it goes without saying but lemme still say it...again!

"Throw away that scrap and get a new smartphone (Android or iOS)"

It is only a matter of time before fellow telcos MTN and Airtel follow suit, so people...DO THE NEEDFUL!!!
