Speaking of which, this year saw some highly anticipated and over the top announcements. Of course, we can’t mention all, but here are some of the most exciting and eye-catching products showcased this year.

CRAZIEST TECH GADGETS AT CES 2017

Faraday Future FF91

The highly anticipated car from Faraday Future finally rolled out its promised production vehicle (almost) debunking the rumours around the company’s fallout.

The FF91 is claimed to be a super-fast electric vehicle which can go head-to-head with the likes of Ferrari, Bentley and its biggest rival, Tesla.

The company showcased its potential with acceleration speeds of 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.39 seconds. Specs include a 130-kWh battery, a range of 378 miles.

Cruise at a steady 55 mph and range goes up to 482 miles. Sounds like the electric car to go for? Not likely as the company is still not sure as to when exactly will one be available to buy. On top of that it could end up with a $180,000 (about N81,000,000) price tag.

Although it wasn’t a bed of roses all the way. At a critical juncture of the demo, when it was supposed to show its self-parking chops, the car stopped working

Media outlets abroad claim that there was a human element involved in steering the car, while its self-driving capabilities were being showcased.

Samsung FlexWash and FlexDry

If you thought laptops were the only 2-in-1s in the business, then you should check out Samsung’s new washing machine that is the next-level of cleaning clothes.

It features a superior four-in-one washer and dryer system. Why have one when you can have two washing machines and dryers? Not only that, it also offers four Wi-Fi controlled laundry devices, which means anyone in your household can control the machine with their personal smartphones and tablets.

Dell’s 8K Monitor

Now we know that there is still a deficiency of good 4K content, but Dell’s new 8K monitor is drool-worthy.

It is a 31.5-inch display offering a 7680×4320 at 60Hz with a pixel density of 280 ppi. Dell is offering 100 percent Adobe RGB, a 1,300:1 contrast ratio, 9.7mm bezel along with two DisplayPorts, four USB 3.0 and an audio line-out. The price is a whooping $4,999 (about N2,250,000) but that’s 33MP of resolution at your disposal.

LG OLED Wallpaper TV

Part of LG Signature 4K OLED W series, the latest product from the company is said to offer a 65-inch or even bigger 4K image on a super-slim panel which is also flexible.

The LED TV is so slim that it can hang onto a wall like a wallpaper. It features a magnetic mounting system which means you can just pull it off the wall, quite literary.

Being flexible, one can even bend it without causing any damage. If we talk about the price, it is worth $8,000 (about N3,600,000), now that’s one expensive wallpaper for your wall.

Samsung H7 Wireless Speaker

Samsung announced a bunch of new products including new laptops.
However its H7 Wireless Speaker was the one product that really stood out. It features UHQ audio capabilities which pumps up audio to 32bits from a source that offers anything between 8 to 24-bit sound.

Samsung said that is uses an algorithm to create sound which is much closer to the original recording than existing HD audio.
It also looks great with its industrial metal design, and has been given a 2017 CES Innovation Award.

Razer Project Valerie

Why have one laptop display, when you can have three. That’s what Razer believes.

It showcased a concept laptop which is called the Razer Blade Pro but with three 17-inch displays. Each display is a 4K IGZO panel managed by Nvidia’s G-Sync monitor technology to ensure that everything runs smooth.

Kingston 2TB pen drive

As storage needs are growing, memory maker Kingston announced a pen-drive.

Now this means you have as much storage as two decent laptops or well about 4,00,000 high-resolution images and yes it supports USB 3.1.

The Kingston Data Traveler Ultimate GT will feature compatibility with both Windows 10 and older OS versions as well as Chrome OS, Mac OS X and Linux will also be compatible.

The company is offering a warranty for five years. There is no information about the pricing but expect $700-800 (N315,000 - N360,000).

Withings Hair Coach

A hairbrush? Yes, CES 2017 saw the announcement of the first ever Bluetooth hair brush.

Launched by a collaboration between Withings, Kerastase, and L’Oreal it listens how you have been brushing your hair and offers suggestions on how to improve your strokes.

It can also detect if you’re brushing wet or dry hair and reminds you not to do the latter. It can count your total brush strokes per session and supposedly gauges the health of your hair.

There goes a list of craziest tech gadgets and devices at the CES 2017 tech event.
